Types of Buses

Q. Describe the bus structure in microcomputer.

There are three types o buses as describe below : 

1. Address Bus : The unidirectional address bus transmits the address signals generated by the microprocessor for memory device and I/O port.  

2. Data Bus: The bidirectional data bus is used to write data either from microprocessor to memory and I/O or read data from memory and I/O to microprocessor.  

3. Control Bus: The control bus is used to transmit the control signals such as read, write, and interrupt control signal.  Also control signals are used to control the direction of data flow through data bus.
